Since beginning Ostari Couture 4 years ago, so many wonderful memories have been made through creating. Having a Fine Arts background has helped me evolve my art to reach new heights and mediums with the Ostari Couture Critters, bridal accessories and wearable art. I'm constantly learning that our education doesn't end after college, there is so much to learn and appreciate. Sometimes you need to step back and strengthen your skills, find healthier ways and keep moving forward. Make connections, pursue your passions and only time will tell where it may lead. That being said, I encourage you all whether you're just starting out or have been stuck in a rut to keep persisting, keep creating and continue to motivate each other.

As the Holidays are approaching I have stocked up my inventory of Ostari Couture Critters in the Shop! These Critters are great gifts for all ages! They can be hung up like a mobile, or alongside your favorite furry friends. Some more exciting news is that my artwork and Critters will be featured in Fort Wayne's newest gallery: Rhapsody, just off of Anthony Blvd :) This gallery has lots of great local talent from across the area and will be a source of art, education and fun! I am very honored to be part of it! I graduated from school three years ago with a Bachelors in Fine Arts it feels wonderful to continue working and creating!
The trees are turning beautifully, Fall is one of my most favorite seasons <3 <3 <3 The holidays are approaching, and our newest Ostari Couture Critter will be making its grand entrance very soon! Stay tuned!
Ostari Couture Critters are making their Grand Entrance into the Shop and hoping to make a big splash this New Year! There are a few select styles available to browse for ranging from gray to sky blue and even navy. This is just a small premier of whats yet to come. :)
I have been working all hours of the day and nights creating my ostari couture critters to ring in the New Year! It has taken me quite a long time, few months to make this possible but I can't wait for these little guys to find new loving homes! They have been a joy making and I am continuing to create more :) I am looking forward to spending time with my family and I hope you all so the same! Merry Christmas!
Between the end of september and beginning of october I have been a bustling busy bee. A few projects I've been working on are ostari couture critters and most recently finished a commission bridal hair accessory for Kate :) her accessory turned out beautifully and her wedding is this saturday! I have a few whales started too. So far I have 3 grey pairs, 2 blue and miraculously found more orange denim at goodwill so more foxes will be constructed too. A family friend was kind enough to donate all of her old pairs of jeans she had been collecting for years to me to help kick start creating my critters I am extremely thankful to her and her family! Denim has been a crazy textile to work with but when its aged and worn it has a beauty to it that brings life into the whales.
I found a surprisingly new and exciting creative outlet: constructing plush toys out of recycled jeans and other materials :) I'm taking a minor step back away from designing fashions and pouring all my creative juices into painting, drawing and constructing Nautical Wildlife and Critters. These animals relate much more to my fine arts background and I hope will bring joy and excitement into children, families and adult lives.
The new website is up and running with a fresh new look for the new year!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and Merry Christmas! This New Year brings lots of projects ahead and a better mindset on what's to come. 2015 flew by so quickly! Unfortunately some plans don't always go as planned, Kari's Grandma passed away before the 4th of July last year, it was right around the Bikini Spectacular which almost didn't happen. But with the help of some encouragement the show went on and was a big hit. Some things take longer to create and adapt to for instance building a website... That being said Ostari Couture is undergoing some radical changes to make this year an unforgettable and much memorable one! We remember those who we loved and lost and push towards a greater future. Here's to a Grand Year!
Later in 2016, We are premiering our winter fall collection, with evening gowns, metal couture, and fall essentials in a fashion shoot. colorful suedes, prints and metal couture will be featured in this exclusive collection.
Ostari Couture was featured in Fort Wayne, IN Bikini Spectacular Fashion Show on Saturday July 18th. We showcased 4 looks from our Summer Collection. The show was delayed due to weather but luckily still went on. It was great to see people come together and put on a great show!
BELLE OF THE BALL
Ron and Kari created a custom designed metal couture dress for Ana Leigh Matzek, the Rock Girl from 98.9 the Bear. We worked closely with her from showing our various designs then started constructing, fitting and finishing. Her gown really brought our design element to life with the metal bust , and asymmetrical-new era style. She looked absolutely gorgeous at her Masquerade Birthday Bash!
I worked together and modeled in whimsical and dreamlike Photoshoot for photographer Korey Kord, of Kord Photography Group. It was Wonderful to work with him! His work and images from the shoot are Whimsical and Beautiful! He really has an eye for fashion photography and is also a great modeling coach for beginners like me.
It has been a crazy creative year starting up our business! It was just a few months ago that Ron and I collaborated together for the Starstruck Summer Gala Charity Fashion Show and I am proud to call him my partner in design! We have been keeping busy and productive designing and creating wearable garments.
